On June 26, 2018, Daytona Homes Grande Prairie went to the Cool Aid Society’s Hillside Center and helped complete some needed renovations and repairs!
Our Grande Prairie staff went to the Hillside Center and with the help of a few of our trades (thank you Seb from Goliath Exteriors, Triton Plumbing, and Peace Eavestroughing), completed some small renovations around the building. Their Hillside Centre was built in 1957 and had an old counter space that was falling apart and no longer functional. Our team replaced it with new cabinets, a new countertop, and a new sink and faucet, while making a few other general plumbing repairs in the building as well. They even replaced some of the doors within the building and had their parking pad leveled for them. All in all, it was a pleasure to spend the day there helping out.
Since 1979, Cool Aid Society has been offering friendship, guidance, and support to youth in grades 1 to 12 in the city of Grande Prairie. Today, Cool Aid Society has two youth drop-in Centers, Hillside and South Side, where activities are provided to through its out-of-school, tween, teen and summer programs. The programs offer structured and unstructured activities in areas such as physical activities, crafts, and games to mention only a few, which are alternatives to risky activities.
