On June 20, 2018, Daytona Homes Edmonton helped prepare meals and serve lunch at Hope Mission Edmonton!
Our Edmonton staff visited Hope Mission Edmonton to help prepare and serve meals to 375 people who are struggling with poverty and homelessness. Staff peeled, chopped, and prepared all the food and then helped clean up afterwards for a full afternoon of volunteering.
In 1929, Reverend Harold Edwardson established a soup kitchen in Edmonton’s inner-city, serving meals to hundreds of people struggling with unemployment and homelessness at the onset of the Depression. Today, Hope Mission has grown into a not-for-profit Christian social care agency caring for impoverished and homeless men, women, and children, in Alberta.
